Client is selling a commerical building to non-related party and has decreased the sales price to receive three years of free rent. Client will continue to stay in building. How do we handle the free rent issue? Do I increase the sales price by the fmv of the 3 years free rent and show an installment sale for each year's fmv of rent. Do I ignore the free rent issue?
